Yacht Racing Association Of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty The King.
Yacht Racing Association of Thailand was established on February 17, 1955, by Admiral Siri Krajangnet as the first President. Thailand joined the Olympic sailing competition for the first time at the 16th Olympic Games, in Melbourne, Australia.
His Majesty The King and Royal Highness Princess Ubon Ratana Kanya attended the sailing Competition SEAP 4th in 1967, which was hosted by Thailand. Racing together they both won gold medals.
The Optimist has been the basic training boat for Thai youth sailing programs since 1970. The Junior Sailing Squadron of Thailand (“JSST”).
